Hakimi, Bounou and Bouaddi Nominated for 2026 Ballon d’Or Awards

Three Moroccan players feature across separate categories at this year’s football awards.

Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou and Ayyoub Bouaddi have been nominated for awards at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, according to the official shortlist published by UEFA on September 8.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Hakimi is among the 30 contenders for the men’s Ballon d’Or. Bounou, listed with Al Hilal, is nominated for men’s goalkeeper of the year. Bouaddi features in the men’s young talent category.

The distinction matters: the three players are competing for different honours, rather than appearing together on the main Ballon d’Or shortlist.

Winners will be announced on October 26 at the London Palladium. The ceremony will take place in England for the first time, marking 70 years since France Football established the award in 1956.

The nominations establish the contenders; they do not indicate the final rankings.
