Morocco’s flag carrier ranks fourth in OAG’s African airline capacity table as the country remains the continent’s third-largest market by scheduled seats.

Royal Air Maroc has scheduled 793,257 departing seats for September 2026, a 19.2% increase from a year earlier, according to aviation data provider OAG.

The airline ranks fourth in OAG’s African market comparison, behind Ethiopian Airlines, Safair and Egyptair. Air Algérie follows in fifth place with 756,627 seats, up 13.3%, leaving a gap of 36,630 seats between the two carriers.

RAM recorded the second-fastest annual capacity growth among the table’s top ten airlines, behind Nigeria’s Air Peace.

The expansion accompanies growth across Morocco’s aviation market. Scheduled departing capacity reached 2.072 million seats in September, up 10% year on year, placing Morocco behind Egypt and South Africa.

Casablanca ranked fourth among African airports, with approximately 730,000 departing seats and annual growth of 13.5%. Marrakech placed seventh with around 530,000 seats. Source: OAG’s September 2026 African aviation data.
